I am a Sr. Communications Specialist with over 15 years of experience in international organizations, public affairs, public health, and Medicaid health plans.
I currently work as a Communications Project Lead at the HSC Health Care System, a subsidiary of Children's National Hospital. My job includes but is not limited to proofreading and editing internal and external communications, putting together successful care coordination stories that are presented to the Board at Children's National, and coordinating the update and editing of the Enrollee Handbook and Provider Manual. I also lead the fall radio campaign and current communications collaterals disseminated to Medicaid enrollees in the District of Colmbia.
During my tenure at the Pan American Health Organization, my goals have been to change people’s behavior and make them aware of the importance of public health in people’s lives and society. All these have been achieved throughout the communications plans that I have put together regarding the importance of blood donation, radiological services, emergency medical team initiative, heatwave preparedness, disaster risk reduction, diseases outbreaks and the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), all these in the regional context.
Last but not least, I received the Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Scholarship in Venezuela in 2002.
My skills include web design, language edition, translation, Spanish (advanced) and English (advanced).
